Biography

Mariann C. Murphy was admitted to the bar in 1996. She has dedicated her practice exclusively to family law matters, including divorce, custody, spousal and child support, enforcement and modification of interstate custody and child support orders. domestic violence matters and appeals.

She is a member of the Family Law Sections of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Morris County Bar Association and the Sussex County Bar Association. and is a past member of the Northern New Jersey Family Law Inn of Court, an organization dedicated to fostering excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and skills to the legal community.

Ms. Murphy serves as an Early Settlement Panelist in Morris and Sussex Counties, to assist litigants in settling contested divorce and post-judgment issues. She performs extensive  pro bono representation through Legal Services of Northwest Jersey, and she has volunteered with the New Jersey Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project of Morris County, Project Self Sufficiency of Sussex County, and the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Ms. Murphy has lectured on family law issues including divorce, child support and equitable distribution

Ms. Murphy received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Montclair State College and her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law in 1995.
